FIRST STAR ACADEMY had a humble beginning. It was started as a Day Care Centre on the 11th January, 1988 with enrolment of one child in the first three weeks.
The Centre was named ‘KIDIES DAY CARE CENTRE’ to reflect the age group of the children, i.e. Three months to five years group. It was started at the proprietress garage and later constructed four (4) wooden classrooms on the same premises as the number of students increased.
As children reached the age of six, finding suitable primary schools became a challenge. At a PTA Meeting, parents expressed the wish for a continuation school. Consequently, Management acquired a 3.14 acre plot of land from Tema Development Corporation (TDC) to expand from Primary to Junior High School, giving birth to First Star Academy.
